Like a lot of developers, I got excited when AI tutors started appearing everywhere. The promise sounded amazing: Personalized lessons Instant feedback Infinite conversations No expensive tutors So I decided to build Parley, a language learning game that uses AI as the teacher. What I expected was that the biggest challenge would be translation accuracy. I was wrong. The real problem was boredom.
