The Problem We Were Actually Solving We were tasked with ing thousands of concurrent users during a major gaming event. The pressure was on to deliver a smooth experience, but the system had a nasty habit of falling apart under load. We tried everything from scaling up the servers to tweaking the database configurations, but nothing seemed to work for long. It wasn't until we took a closer look at the Treasure Hunt Engine that we realized where the real problem lay.
