Applied for a Design Engineer job. The take-home is to build a self-driving browser bot. They told me design counts for zero points.

I'm a designer who codes some frontend. That's the whole reason I went for this role. Then they hand me this: build an agent where you type "book a table for 2 at 7pm at Nobu SF" in plain English and it drives a real browser to actually do it. Fill the forms, click the dropdowns, wait for pages, recover when something breaks, pull the confirmation number. On live websites. The grade is entirely: does it work, can it survive CAPTCHAs and popups and random layout changes, how good is your architecture. Stuff that has nothing to do with why anyone calls this a design role.
