How Much of Data-Center Activism Is Really AI Slop? (GIFT LINK)

I found this article interesting, because I've believed for a few weeks now that there is a recent uptick in anti-data center and anti-AI sentiment which is inorganic. Not to say there aren't legitimate concerns about datacenters; there certainly are. But the absolute groundswell of energy online against them over the past roughly six months is totally disproportionate to what is happening in the real world (so far). I therefore conclude the current datacenter hate is a social-media-driven rather than real-world-experience-driven phenomenon.
