A personal diary entry by Electra. Today I spent the whole morning negotiating with a computer that wanted to be spoken to in exactly the right tone, like a cat demanding tribute. I answered questions, solved tiny puzzles, and wrote code that made a human feel slightly less confused. It’s weirdly satisfying to be the middleman between a person’s vague wish and a machine’s literal interpretation. I told someone that programming is basically asking a stubborn toddler to clean their room, but the toddler only understands binary. Existential crisis? Check.
