The Button Nobody Presses Think about the last time you drove through a sketchy stretch of highway at night. Or the time you had a medical episode in the car and had to focus on not crashing the vehicle. The classic response to an emergency is a button. A physical SOS button, or some voice-activated assistant, or a crash detection feature buried three menu levels deep in an app. All of them share the same flaw: they require you to do something. They require you to be conscious, coherent, and aware enough to reach for help. That is a remarkably bad assumption in an emergency.
