Multi-agent AI systems are now automating scientific discovery and nobody seems ready

Two papers dropped this week. Both about AI systems that run experiments autonomously. I keep thinking about what this actually means at scale. We're not talking about AI helping researchers find papers faster or organize data. These are systems that form hypotheses, design experiments, and iterate on findings without waiting for a human to approve each step. The whole loop just runs.
