A bit late to this as the white paper hit arXi a little less than two months ago, but nobody else here mentioned it so I thought I might. A little background. Yann LeCun is a pioneer of deep learning and convolutional neural networks, LeCun served as Director of AI Research at Meta (formerly Facebook) and Chief AI Scientist, before leaving Meta ( under "interesting" circumstances ) and becoming Executive Chairman of Advanced Machine Intelligence (AMI Labs) in 2025. He shared the 2018 ACM Turing Award for his foundational contributions to artificial intelligence.
